FAQ

First Time Guests

You are very welcome here at First Baptist Jonesboro! During the worship service, please take a moment to fill out a Guest Card. After worship, come by the Guest Reception desk in the lobby area and meet Pastor Mel. He will exchange the completed card for a small gift, just for you!

Our services are approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of any service or event.

You may sit wherever you feel comfortable in our Worship Center, from the front row on the main floor to the back row of the balcony. If you have difficulty locating a seat, our ushers are available to assist you.

You are welcome at FBJ just as you are. We have members in coats and ties, members in jeans and t-shirts, and everything in between. We meet to worship the Lord and fellowship with other believers. We believe that it’s the attitude of your heart that matters to God, rather than your physical appearance.

We have special parking for first-time guests, families with young children, and people who are 75+ years or handicapped. Check out our parking map to find the best place for you to park.

What to Expect

We gather together for a real and personal encounter with God. Prepare yourself for congregational singing and a season of prayer. There will be special music, an offering to God, and a message from the scriptures.

Our Pastor preaches from the New King James Version (NKJV). We accept all versions of the Bible that hold true to God’s Word.

Designated wheelchair access and seating is available only on the main floor. Our ushers will be happy to help you locate seating for yourself and anyone who is accompanying you.

First Baptist Jonesboro does offer tours of the church campus by request to [email protected]

Connection Questions

Every Sunday we have Bible study classes for all ages. We call these classes, “Life Groups.” Come to the Welcome Desk and we will help you find the right Life Group, just for you!

There’s something for everyone at FBJ. From preschool to adults, you’ll find small groups, special events, and more designed just for you. At FBJ, you can get involved in music, recreation, community outreach, missions and evangelism, and more. Plus you’ll find special events throughout the year including our Christmas presentations, Men’s and Women’s Ministry events, Vacation Bible School for children, Student Summer Camp, and more! All events are designed to help you grow spiritually, fellowship with friends, and reach out to others.

Children are important to us at FBJ! While you attend Worship Service and Life Groups, the kids will be in age-appropriate, special programs with caring teachers who want to show them Jesus’ love. If you would like for them to join you in the service, we do have sermon activity pages available in the Foyer for ages 4+.

As a guest, you have the opportunity on Sundays to complete a guest card, meet the pastor, and receive a small gift. By filling out the guest card, you enable us to contact you about upcoming activities and help you get connected to one of our many ministries at FBJ. Of course, you can always ask a greeter, church member, or send an email to [email protected]
